| Name | Type | Description |

| record | sys.data.Record | The record to validate. |
object[] -You should return an array of errors, something like this:
[
{path: 'addressLine', code: 'invalid', message: 'This is not a valid US address'},
{path: 'zipCode', code: 'invalid', message: 'This is not a valid US zip code'}
]
Where path is the path of the field with issues. You need to put the full path if it is
a nested field like address.zipCode. If it is a multi-valued field you need to indicate
the index like addresses[1].zipCode.
code is the error code. You can put whatever makes sense to you and it will be sent in
the response when trying to create/update a record using the REST API or the exception info when
saving a record with the Javascript API.
Finally the message is what will be displayed in the UI and also sent as response together
with the code.
//validates the zip code using an external service
var errors = [];
var zipCode = record.field('address.zipCode').val();
if (!app.endpoints.addressValidator.isValidZipCode(zipCode)) {
errors.push({
path: 'address.zipCode',
code: 'invalid',
message: 'This is not a valid US zip code'
});
}
return errors;
